Third Door From The Left - " Face The Firing Squad " (Chamber Music CMT001) 1981

They protagonists of Third Door From The Left(Raye Caluori & Kevin Thorne) met at a TG gig at the YMCA, London on August 3rd 1979.
Having agreed on a common admiration of things industrial, they set out to be exactly like their favourite pop groups...yes, you guessed it, Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle.
And to prove it, the first track here is a slowed down version of 'Nag Nag Nag' with different lyrics, but the same drum machine, and the same descending tom tom roll.
On "In The Room" we are treated to a Genesis P. Orridge impersonation, it might even be him,but I doubt it somewhat. "Ritual" sounds like a TG bootleg, and may even be a recreation of that YMCA gig for all I know.
In all, a pretty impressive facsimile of their Industrial idols, and sounds like a great lost album by an industrial super group, a sort of a Cabaret Gristle moment.......and why not?
Kevin Thorne went on to be the more electronic 'We Be Echo' , as featured in the post before this.
Thanks again to PJ.
